March 21st was the last day for people to register for Mumbai auditions of Indian Idol 3. If you have registered already, send an SMS to 2525 with the text – IREG <Reg No> and find if you are lucky.
Precasting days for Kolkata care 24th, 25th and 26th March and the judges days are 27th and 28th March. The scene then will shift to the last audition location Mumbai where the pre casting days are 31st March, 1st and 2nd April and the judges days are 3rd and 4th April.

I had been to the auditions in mumbai..all the way from chennai.And except for the judje everyone else liked my singing and the voice as well.They werent worried that they were not selected.They were disappointed bcause I was not selected.I know i sing well,otherwise i wouldnt have taken all the pains i took to reach mumbai.All of them told me that this wasnt the right place for me and that, i should try for sa re ga ma..at least there my skills would be recognised. I at least wanto know about the reasonm, why i was rejected although the judge asked me to sing twice and i was damn sure that i had made it.Please reply to me.
Thanks Chitra for sharing. Its extremely difficult to know what the judges are looking for. It happned is Hyderabad as well. As soon as the gates were open for the auditions, the first batch of 10 consisted of 3 singers trained in Carnatic music, 2 singers who reached the Sye Challenge finals (a talent search program in Telugu). To utter surprise noone was selected from that batch. Inspite of the tall claims the organisers and Fremantle makes that they are looking for genuine singing talent, somhow, the focus on this is lacking in the selection process. I only hope they make the right selection to get a genuine talent to become Indian Idol. After seeing whats happening on American Idol currently and what has happened to last years winner of Indian Idol one can only pray. Dont lose hope. You would soon recieve your ticket to stardom.

its not the question of stardom that i m looking for..i dont even want money but what i want is..at least people who can reealy sing well, they should be selected.its also not that i m jus presentable.well i may not be aishwarya rai but offcourse i m not that bad too….
so my point is i jus dont understand that were exactly i lacked.??
if sum one tells me atleast that , next time i would work on it.

you kinda start loosing confidence in yourself.you no ? after the auditions , i was reely damn sure that i would definitely make it,and hearing to the compliments from all who heard my singing, i was like…”oh man”…wow…i was walking soo proudly…..u no..??
it might be soundin funny to u…but thats what happened…and i was about to call all my acquantainces..to inform them…but thank god i dint.
again,its not that i am claiming that i m a superb singer or anything like that.but then again…i m not that bad toooooooo….

Agreed. I perfectly understand how it feels when one does not get what they think they deserve and can easily relate with you on that. Somehow I feel one should never lose self confidence. Did you know Karunya wasn’t shortlisted initially last year and got in in his second attempt?! The Sony BMG biggies sitting for the initial auditions have their own trip while shortlisting the participants to appear before the trio (Ihear Javed Akhtar is also roped in as 4th judge). Sad. But then what can anyone do?!
