Indian Idol auditions take Dubai by storm

Dubai The Indian Idol auditions that recently took place in the city attracted talent from all walks of life in Dubai thus leading one to wonder – could the next Idol be from the emirate? The judges are optimistic and the contestants feel sure that they’d prove stiff competition for the others back home.
The auditions that took place in Knowledge Village on April 6 and 7 saw housewives, teachers and students among others gather to exercise their vocal chords in the hope of recording a album and scoring a contract worth Rs one crore.
The contest that is going global this year will also hold auditions in London to filter out the finest talent that India has to offer.

In its third series Indian Idol will cross all boundaries and bring to the viewers the best singing talent. Indian Idol will hold the first ever international auditions in Dubai. The lines will be open for UAE starting from March 19 to April 4, 2007. Auditions will take place on April 6 and 7.To make participation universal and allow for easy registration Sony Entertainment Television has set up an exclusive SMS gateway. Budding aspirants between the age of 16-30 can call to register for a place in any of the audition centres.
